I treated myself to a brunch at one of my favorite spots in Chicago—Tre Kronor. Nestled in North Park, this Nordic-style bistro has a charm that feels like stepping into a Scandinavian cottage.

Tre Kronor is known for its Norwegian-inspired menu. Their famous Oslo Omelette, filled with smoked salmon, cream cheese, and dill, is a crowd-pleaser, but today I selected the Reubensen sandwich. It’s their Nordic twist on the classic Reuben, and it was delicious. Perfectly toasted rye bread, layers of corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, melty Swiss cheese, and just the right amount of dressing—it all came together beautifully.

The atmosphere at Tre Kronor is just as delightful as the food. The small dining room is filled with light, thanks to the large windows, and the tables are adorned with small details that feel distinctly Nordic. It’s the kind of place where you can linger over a cup of coffee and feel like you’re in a different world for a little while.
